U.S. Ambassador Richard Hoagland Recognizes Accountant Reform and Excellency
U.S. Ambassador Richard E. Hoagland addressed the participants of the Certified International Professional Accountant (CIPA) program and presented the top award to Tajikistan’s Best CAP Certified Enterprise Accountant at their 2005 Awards Ceremony. The International Council of Certified Accountants and Auditors established this program in 2001 in Tajikistan with sponsorship from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
USAID Enterprise Development Project has been working to strengthen the CIPA network in Tajikistan since August 2002. CIPA is a world-class, Russian-language professional accountancy certification. In addition to the top award, CIPA also recognized the best local training providers, trainers, and enterprise accountants.
At the ceremony, the latest twenty one Certified Accountant Practitioners (CAP) will receive their certification. Local firms Babilon-M, Babilon-T, and Petrotal, realizing the benefits of qualified, professional accountants, sponsored the ceremony. Other guests and members of the CIPA Awards panel of judges included Peter Argo, USAID Tajikistan Country Officer; Fernand Pillonel, Head of EBRD’s Tajikistan Mission; Baktiyor Muminov, Technical Director of Babilon Group; and Dilshod Mavlonov, Deputy Director of Petrotal. |
